Eagle Scout is the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA). Only four percent of Boy Scouts achieve this rank. The requirements take years to fulfill and include earning at least 21 merit badges, and demonstrating Scout Spirit, service, and leadership.
Since the early 1960s, more than 100 alumni met the requirements to achieve the Eagle Scout rank. Part of the Eagle Scout requirement is to plan, develop, and lead a service project—the Eagle Project—that demonstrates leadership and a commitment to duty. Some alumni did projects of international impact while others focused on local needs. Evan Hunsberger ’03 revived and promoted a daily devotional book for military service men and women, Strength in Service to God and Country. For his efforts, Evan received the BSA 2003 Most Outstanding Eagle Scout Project Award. Donald Annarella ’13 constructed and installed the Stations of the Cross at Servite in 2012 that was later updated.
Thank you to alumni and all Eagle Scouts for living the virtues of leadership and service.
