VIDEO: “Lean on Me” performed by choir members Sean Oliu ’20, Sam George ’21 and Branden Rodriguez ’21 with Mrs. Cahill.

Mrs. Renee Cahill, Director of Choral Music for Servite, asked her students, “How does the song “Lean on Me” describe Servite Brotherhood?” Here’s what a few of them had to say:

SENIORS

Nic Harrison
In the Servite brotherhood, we rely on each other in both good times and bad times. The Necessity of the Other is what is being spoken about in this song, and how important it is to “lean on” a brother we trust when we are in a time of need, or to be the one to help a brother in his time of need.

Angelo Aguilera
This describes SERVITE BROTHERHOOD because we can always count on each other.

Ender Aguilar
The song is about the necessity of the other and reaching out when you are feeling overwhelmed with the burden of the world.

Lex Leathem
Everybody has tough times throughout life, but the best way to get through it is to depend on your brothers and lean on them to help you through it.

John Niklas
Some things in life cannot be carried alone, ask for help. Most people at Servite are happy to do so.

Jackson Lambros
It’s hard to describe Servite’s relationship with this song without bringing up Mrs. Krebs funeral. Not only did we sing this during their funeral, but that moment is exactly what Servite’s all about. It’s the entire school stopping in their tracks to be there for a student in need…for a brother in need.

Jack Terrones
The song describes the SERVITE BROTHERHOOD because we should all be able to support each other and help each other in times of need or struggle.

James Terrones
Our brothers are there for us when we need help or need someone to talk to and just in general have our backs.

Sean Oliu
This song describes Servite Brotherhood because it is rooted in accountability of those around you. At Servite you can trust any one of your brothers to help get you through whatever it is that you’re going through. A perfect example is this virus, we’re all leaning on each other to help keep our spirits up during this difficult time.

Luke Ramirez
Whenever a Friar needs someone, the other Friars are there within an instant to have their back no matter what.

Sal Liddi
I feel like this is the theme song for all Servite. It perfectly describes what we’re all about. The fact that we’re always there for our brothers in times of need.

Mikal Quezada
You can always count on your brothers to be there for you in hard times and they will for sure be there for you in good times for example in the future on your wedding day or when you are having you first child or when a loved one has passed they will always be there for you. CREDO

Chase Pittman
In the Servite brotherhood, we can fall back on one another in hard times and carry the cross/burden with them so they don’t have to do it all by themself! Credo!!!

Marc Schavone
Your brothers will always be there for you even when you are out of Servite. You can always lean on your brothers for help and security.

Evan Serynek
We are a brotherhood and we always have each other’s back especially in times of need. We never want to see our brother fall and if he does we’ll pick him back up.

Ryan Gomez
After a long stay in the hospital and returning home with a diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis (Auto-Immune Disease) midway through my sophomore year, I needed my brothers support upon returning to school and that’s exactly what I received. I remember first walking back through the quad and all my classmates staring at me like I was a new person. I had lost so much weight and was still recovering yet they saw directly past my illness and it was like I hadn’t lost anytime with them as we continued to enjoy our time together. I will never forget the unconditional amount of support from my senior class and a lot of staff from the Servite Community. It is nice to know that at Servite there is always someone willing to put the needs of others first.

Ernesto Garcia
This song describes the Servite brotherhood because everyone has someone to talk to whether it is a friend, teacher, or staff member.

SOPHOMORES

Zion Sims
This song describes the Servite brotherhood because when we are struggling in life, we can look to our Servite brothers to help support and encourage us in a time of need.

Brad Hansen
Lean on Me describes the Servite Brotherhood by how it talks about how you have someone to lean on and at Servite, I believe that you always have someone to lean on whether it’s a teacher or a classmate.

FRESHMEN

Jacob Lopez
This song talks about how when we are in dark times, we need someone who will comfort and be there for us. Every member of the Servite family has their brothers to lean on. The Servite Brotherhood is something that can never be broken, and every member is there for his brother.

Ben Wemple
This song talks about depending on others and knowing that they will be there for you, and that is what Servite Brotherhood is about.

Joshua Blanco
That no matter what we will be there for each other. This song is about helping your brothers and at Servite, we are all brothers.
