Members of the Mothers Guild showed off decor for the "Roman Holiday" Fashion Show in 1963

When Servite High School first opened its doors at its temporary site at St. Philip Benizi Church & School, a dedicated group of mothers quickly saw that the new school would need support. And thus, the Mothers Guild was formed, with Mrs. Doris Haag serving as its founding president. While the group would go on to host various events such as rummage sales and spaghetti dinners, the very first fundraiser they launched was one that has continued each year since: the Servite Fashion Show.

From its earliest days, the Servite Fashion Show was a sophisticated event that received regular coverage in the society pages of the Los Angeles Times and other local papers. In the 1960s, professional models walked the runway, but over the years, faculty, mothers and students have all had their turns on stage. The fashions and models may have changed, but what never wavered was the dedication of Servite mothers. From the first fashion show to the most recent, a dedicated group of women have lovingly overseen every detail, from invitations to décor to publicity. Raffles have been held and community donations have been secured, with all proceeds benefiting Servite High School.

Mark your calendar to attend the 60th anniversary of the Servite Fashion Show Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Anaheim Marriott and be a part of the tradition.
