Hello everybody,

It’s been a couple of days since the last update and we’ve done a lot since our arrival here in Perth.

To make this easier to navigate, I’ll split up what we’ve done by student.

Alex Lee’15

Alex and his host, Matt’14, have been relaxing at Seabird Caravan Park about an hour north of Perth.  The park is 50 meters from the beach, has a swimming pool, tennis courts, ping pong tables, and more.

Brian Garrido’13

Brian and his host, Jake’14, have been staying with Jake’s family in Yanchep which is about  45 minutes north of Perth.  The chalet which he is staying in has an amazing view and overlooks the beach.  These past couple of days, Brian and Jake have been chilling on the beach.  Today was rather unfortunate for Brian, as he dislocated his shoulder.  He had to go the hospital to get it reset, but afterwards he and Jake went to Yanchep National Park and visited Crystal Cave with myself and Nico.

Donald Annarella’13 and Nico Kadlec’14

Nico and I have done most of the activities together so I’ll write this from one shared section.  I am hosted by Luke’14, and Nico is hosted by Nick’14.  On Good Friday our families both ate lunch with their own respective family and friends to start the day.  Then we both visited (at different times) Kings Park and Botanic Garden.  Kings Park has a total area of 1,003 acres, which is larger than Central Park in New York (843 acres).  It is home to over 300 different species of plant and 80 species of bird.  Kings Park also overlooks the Swan River and the city of Perth.  After Kings Park, we met up at Pinaroo Valley and got an ucplose view of wild kangaroos.  The next day, we went to the Perth Mint and watched a gold pour.  We wandered through downtown Perth and then hung out at Scarborough Beach.  After that, we went to Easter vigil at St. Kieran’s Catholic Church (across the street from Servite College).  Then today, we went to Yanchep and hung out at the beach, saw wild koalas in Yanchep National Park, and toured Crystal Cave.

So far this has been a very eventful trip and we look forward to having more fun!  We’ll post more updates on the blog as we continue to do more and more.
