Garrett Amador ’16 scored, what some called the goal of the year, on a half volley from 30 yards out to help Servite defeat Loyola 3-2 in the CIF Semifinals. The score turned out to be the game-winner for the Friars who advanced to the CIF Finals vs. El Toro, winning the first Soccer CIF Championship, 2-0. On defense, the Friars were led by goalie Keith Murphy ’15 who had outstanding saves throughout the playoff run.
