Her Servants’ Kitchen (HSK) was started in 2008 and, this March, we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary. This amazing student-led ministry provides students with the opportunity to see Christ in a group of men and women living on the street and to be the face of Christ to them by being an instrument of God’s mercy and love. Each Thursday – in the Servite tradition of service to others – our young men gather food, prepare dinner and serve it to homeless men and women who live in and around La Palma Park in Anaheim.

This student-led ministry has never missed a Thursday and, to date, has served more than 35,000 meals and distributed thousands of pieces of warm clothing and blankets, bus passes and toiletries. The Servite men provide more than just a meal, they offer friendship, prayer and hope to a community of people who have become our friends. In the beginning 12 -20 meals were served each week, soon that grew to 75 and then to 100. What started as a few volunteers has become 8 – 10 student leaders joined by members of the assigned priory and other students and guests who enjoy serving others and standing at the foot of their crosses.
