Servite was represented by students at the Wells of Life 5k race, “Run4Water” to help raise money for water wells in Uganda. Run4Water organizers aim to recruit 40 teams to fund 40 wells at a $6,000 cost per well. Each well provides clean water for 1,000 people for up to twenty-five years. All non-well expenses are raised through private donations and fundraisers, so 100% of the well production is funded by donors. The event took place locally at Laguna Niguel Regional Park on April 22nd.
Wells of Life has a mission of funding the drilling of 1,000 water wells, over a ten year period, for the people of Uganda. Their primary goal is to help solve the water dilemma, one well at a time, and to bring safe water to over 1,000,000 villagers. You can learn more about Wells of Life here!
