Hello everybody,

This update will cover our first 3 days of school.

Wednesday

We all arrived at school around 8:30 (school starts at 8:45 and ends at 3:20).  Once there, we checked in with Dr. Cox (principal) to figure out our schedule for the day.  We attended the leadership training session for the Year 11’s (junior class) during periods 1 and 2.  During those periods we watched a presentation given by Mr. Wiles (head of leadership development), did small group activities by priory (there are 6 priories), and had a Q&A session with the head boy and head girl.  Next was break.  Then after break we had periods 3&4.  During period 3 we caught up on school assignments.  Period 4, we attended Mountaintop Day, which is equivalent to our formation meetings.  The theme of this Mountaintop Day was love, specifically what is love and God’s love for us.  After that was lunch, and then we attended Mountaintop Day for the last 2 periods, periods 5&6.  That night, we all met up at Leederville, which is this street with a bunch of cafes and stores, and we hung out with the International Servite School Network (ISSN) girls who came over to America last year.

Thursday

We were at school at 8:00 where we met with the priory leaders and the head boy and girl from Servite College.  We discussed our leadership systems, the differences and similarities, and issues that face each of our schools.  After the leadership meeting in the morning we went to Mrs. Mac’s Meat Pie (Australia’s #1 meat pie producer) factory and took a tour of the facility.  We learned about the whole process of making a meat pie and received free meat pies afterward.  After that, we finished out the school day in class.  After school we all went to the mall and did some souvenir shopping.

Friday

We attended class for the whole school day on Friday.  Some of the classes we attended were Psychology, Chemistry, Math, Economics, and PE.  After school, we all met up at Hillary’s Boat Harbor and hung out with our hosts and the ISSN girls.  Hillary’s is a pier where the ferries leave and also where there are plenty of shops and restaurants.

Saturday

On Saturday we had an action packed day.  Nico and I (Donald) started off the day when went with my host, Luke, to his rec league basketball game and played in the game.  Our team won.   After that we all met up at the Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA).  After AQWA we did some souvenir shopping and then attended Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Perth.
