What is your favorite subject? Why? My favorite subject is Mandarin because it is something that sets me apart from most high school kids and allows me to observe a culture which is becoming extremely important in today’s society.
What teacher has most impacted you here at Servite? Why? Mr. Van Dyk has impacted me tremendously because he taught me that if you do something you love, it almost doesn’t seem like work at all. He always came to class in a great mood and his class was the best part of my day.
Advice for freshmen on how to balance the academic and athletic rigors at Servite: I would say getting your homework done and communicating with your teachers is the most important thing. Teachers like being in the loop and informing them on things you’re struggling with or need extra help on will make both of your jobs easier.
What else are you involved in at Servite? I am in the Mandarin program as well as a Sandberg International Leadership Program Ambassador. I am also involved with CSF and Priory serving as the Treasurer General.
Career Interest- I am looking to get a Business degree with an emphasis in sports management or contract law along with a minor in Mandarin. I plan to use these skills to get a job at an agency as a sports agent and hope to one day have my own agency for top athletes in the world.
Classes you’re currently taking- AP English Literature, AP Chinese, HP Critical Reflections, CP Calculus, HP Physics, AP US Government
