What is your favorite subject? Why? My favorite class is English Literature. I enjoy reading great pieces of writing and being able to interpret them because it allows you to formulate your own ideas about the work. As long as a student provides relevant evidence, they can make arguments about most works of literature.
What teacher has most impacted you here at Servite? Why? Although he does not work at Servite anymore, my sophomore English teacher Mr. Hunt has probably impacted me the most. He always preached to take classes to pursue an education and not a good grade, and that grades should be a byproduct of learning. I’ve kept in mind this lesson throughout high school because years from now, the knowledge and lessons I learn in school will far outweigh the grades I received.
Advice for freshmen on how to balance the academic and athletic rigors at Servite: Balancing academics and athletics at Servite pushes students as both require plenty of dedication and hard work. I would advise freshman to limit distractions at home and refrain from procrastinating. Cramming for a class can be difficult especially during their sport’s season and can be avoided by staying ahead in school.
What else are you involved in at Servite? Besides football, I’ve been playing trombone for our jazz band since freshman year and started playing rugby junior year.
Career interest- In the future, I would like to pursue a career focused on philanthropy.
