Name: Claire Early
School & Grade: Rosary Academy, Grade 9
Role: Jack’s Mom
Jack’s Mom is a very charismatic, exasperated mother who loves her son a great deal even though he can make it hard sometimes.
I’ve been going over my lines, I made a playlist of songs that get me in character, and I often ask my mom for help on how she deals with aggravating children (a.k.a. me.)

Last Midnight. What a masterpiece.

What are you excited for audiences to see in “Into the Woods”?
Me of course! I’m just kidding. Everyone in the cast is so dedicated and have poured their hearts and souls into this production, and I’m really excited for the audience to see all the care and love in the show. It’s so beautifully written, with wonderful music and a wonderful group of people putting it on.

Shoutout to all the teachers who are merciful during Tech Week! Also my family, the audience, my friends, my mentors, and chocolate. ALSO ALSO anyone who buys their Into the Woods tickets using promo code EARLY.
Name: Samuel George
School & Grade: Servite High School, Grade 9
Role: Jack
Briefly tell us about your role:
Sadly, a desperate mother sends her son Jack into the woods to sell Milky-White, their cow. I play Jack: a care-free young lad of ten years, whose only friend in the world is his cow Milky-White. Jack has to sell his cow because she no longer produces milk…not one drop. Instead of selling his cow for food money, he trades her for magic beans.
How are you preparing for your specific role?
Well you know that’s an interesting question. Actually, I try to put myself in Jack’s head so that I can feel what’s going on in there. And when I do that I understand what Jack is going through. Then I can express myself as though what is happening to Jack is happening to me. That makes me come across as a little boy who is sad about having to sell his cow.
What is your favorite song from the show?
My favorite song in the show is Your Fault. I’ll tell you why. When I hear the song it makes me realize that not everything bad that happens is always just one person’s fault. The fast tempo of the music makes for a lively song.
Can you share a favorite Tri-School memory?
My favorite Tri-School memory would have to be when I first started the Acting 1 class at Tri-School. Everyone was so welcoming.
Favorite subject in school/Favorite teacher?
My favorite subject/teacher at school, is Spanish. The language is really fun to learn and Mr. Northgrave is also pretty funny.
Are you involved in anything outside of Tri-School?
Yes, I am a member of the Campus Activities Committee and I also participate in the Junior Thespian Production shows.
If you aren’t performing, what do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
If I’m not performing (or rehearsing) I enjoy…sleeping. I don’t get that much of it so whenever I’m not busy I try to sleep.
If someone could play YOU in the movie of your life, who would it be?
Ron Howard. I chose him because I can see my life progressing in a similar way as his life. He was a childhood actor who later became a producer/director of television and film.
What are you excited for audiences to see in “Into the Woods”?
I can’t wait for audiences to see the other side of their favorite fairy-tale characters. I also am excited for them to see the beanstalk grow out of the stage!
Anyone you would like to thank?
That’s easy. Of course, I am grateful for all the people, teachers, directors, family, and friends. And everyone who continues to teach me and encourage me in my acting career.
