Senior Luke DaVanon has committed to play soccer at Cal State Dominguez Hills. The Friars’ midfielder shared, “I chose CSUDH because it’s close to home, has good sized campus, excellent facilities and one of the top nursing schools. The soccer program also has an excellent coaching staff and plays in a very competitive league.”

A two-year varsity letterman for Servite soccer, DaVanon has tallied five goals and three assists to date while playing in 30 games for the Friars throughout his career. He has also helped the team clinch their 9th consecutive Trinity League Championship this season.

DaVanon will go on to play for Servite Head Coach Eddie Soto who has also held the head coaching job at CSUDH since April of 2019. Servite Associate Head Coach Bob Osegura shared, “Luke Davanon is a strong left footed player whose athleticism and speed have allowed him to play at the college level. Luke was recruited by multiple schools but ultimately chose to play for the Toros where we know he can make an impact.”

DaVanon, who plans to major in nursing in college, is also involved with the Asylum and Trinity Corporation at Servite. He has also volunteered as a soccer coach for young kids sharing his love of the sport. In his free time he likes to hang out with his friends, listen to music and play cards with his parents.

DaVanon is one of an impressive eight soccer seniors who have announced their college commits carrying on the legacy of success in the program not only at the high school level but also collegiately.

In closing DaVanon added, “Thank you mom and dad for everything that you have done for me. You have always been there for me and supported me in everything. You will always be my number 1 supporters. I love you lots!”
