On October 2, 2017, the Guitar Duo Möller-Fraticelli brought their renowned talents to Servite High School. Comprised of Johannes Möller from Sweden and Laura Fraticelli from Argentina, the duo has performed throughout Europe, North and South America as well as on radio and television. In 2010, Möller was awarded first prize in the GFA Concert Artist Competition, considered by many to be the most prestigious guitar competition in the world.

Servite High School has been able to bring artists like Duo Möller-Fraticelli on campus to perform for students thanks to the support of the Servite Music program and Classical Guitar Instructor, Dr. Andrew Stroud. “Regardless of their intended major when they leave Servite, I believe it is incredibly important for the students to gain the experience of seeing high art performed at a professional level,” said Dr. Stroud. “These performances help students understand that music can function as much more than a mindlessly rhythmic entertainment, and in fact has done so for most of its history. It’s important for the young men of Servite to see the heights of professionalism demonstrated, so that they gain perspective and appreciation for what lies ahead of them as well.”

For the fall, Dr. Stroud has another guest artist lined up. Brazilian guitarist Flavio Apro will be performing on October 17 during 7th period in Seven Holy Founders Chapel.
