There have been many great moments in Servite Track history. There have been League Championships and individual CIF victories. There were the 400 and 3200 meter relay Team victories. Matt Slater ‘03 and Eric Simms ‘09 individual victories. Thirteen top ten finishes since 2000, including two runner-up plaques. But the defining moment was the 2017 CIF Team Championship. The Team was led by hurdlers, Ian Ward ‘17 and Kyle Sandoval ‘17. Sandoval was CIF Champion in the high hurdles, placed in the intermediates and ran on the 3200 relay team. Ward competed in four events, both relays and both hurdles. Ward made Masters in the intermediates and the 400 relay. The 400 relay Team of Ward, Julius Irvin ‘18, Keith Taylor ’17 and Trent McDuffie ‘19 broke both the school and Orange County Championships record. The Team scored points in nine of sixteen events. It was a dominate year – League Champion, CIF Champion and number one in the County.
