Track had a busy week hosting Orange Lutheran then competing at the Triton Invite. The Friars defeated the Lancers posting impressive marks for early in the season then finished with some of the top times in the state at San Clemente.
Against Orange Lutheran, the 4×100 relay team of Brad Riehl, Alex Skalmowski, Elijah Sandoval and Max Thomas cruised to a 42.90 finish then lowered their time at the Triton Invite winning the race with a mark of 42.54, one of the top 10 times in the state this season. In addition to running the anchor leg of the relay, Thomas won the 100 and 200 at both events posting 10.76 and 21.75 times respectively in San Clemente, both top five times in the state.
The hurdling duo of Elijah Sandoval and Brad Riehl went 1-2 in both hurdling events against the Lancers with Sandoval winning the 110s (15.96) and Riehl the 300s (39.94). Cross Country standouts Michael Guerra and Andrew Calle won the 1600 and 800 for the Friars vs. Orange Lutheran while Servite had a great showing in the field events with Hans Garcia (long jump), Erik Robbins (high jump) and David Ramirez (pole vault) all taking 1st.
