Sophomore Geoffrey Curran spent the last three weeks of summer with the USA Cycling junior development team, racing and training in Izegem, Belgium. Geoffrey was chosen for the 6 man team from riders across the USA based on coaching evaluations at the national talent identification camp, and his racing record in the 2011 season. Over the weekend, Geoffrey beat 155 competitors in the the individual time trial at the 4- day Tour of West Flanders, to take the opening day yellow jersey. He then helped his teammate win the overall competition against 26 teams. Geoffrey hopes to attend the USA Cycling Olympic Training Center camp this fall to continue his training.
