Soccer Wins 5th Consecutive Trinity League Title

Servite Soccer (18-2-2) clinched their 5th consecutive Trinity League title going 8-1-1 overall in league play while earning the No. 1 seed in the CIF Division 1 playoffs.

On route to the league title, the Friars recorded six shutouts, giving up a league-low six goals while being one of three teams to score 30 goals.

During the same stretch, Corbin Mercado led the Friars in scoring posting seven goals while Jesus Melgoza, Chad Sinclair, Uriel Sanchez, Jose Sosa and Marc Trejo recorded three each. Brett Lux added eight assists followed by Trejo with three. Nico Pavez anchored the Friars defense in goal while splitting time with Zachary Grisotti and David Mitzner.

Looking toward the playoffs, Servite received a first round bye and will play the winner of Warren and Harvard Westlake next Wednesday at home at 3pm.
