Tri-School participated in the CA Thespian State Festival this weekend, and our young men won a number of awards.  This festival is the theatre equivalent of CIF. California Thespians is the state level organization of the International Thespian Society, an honor society for high school theatre students and a division of the Educational Theatre Association. Vincent Campbell won second place in the state for Sound Design, and third place in the state for Scenic Design. Hunter Berecochea, Grant Hodges and Brandon Martinez were cast in the All State show on Friday night, rehearsed in the early morning or late night before and after regular festival events, and performed as a part of the closing ceremonies.  Students from all over the state auditioned to be in this production, and only 21 of over 100 entries were accepted. Hunter and Brandon also received a callback and superior ranking for their Solo Musical events, putting them in the top 30 in the state of over 150 who auditioned. Daniel Kane, Student State Board Member for 2012-2013 helped to plan this entire festival for over 1200 people.  He was also elected to a second term on the board and will be helping to plan the 2014 State Festival.  As a Student State Board Member, Danny is a representative of Educational Theatre in the state of California. We are incredibly proud of these students for their accomplishments.
