Servite High School announced today that Football Offensive Coordinator Darnell Arceneaux has accepted an Athletic Director position in Hawaii.
Coach Arceneaux, known to his players as Coach D, served as Offensive Coordinator for two seasons helping lead the Friars to a CIF-SS Division 1 playoff berth in 2019.
Coach Arceneaux shared, “In my short time at Servite it has provided many memorable experiences. Walking the campus every day I felt alive and a part of something bigger than myself. Those feelings allowed me to work, love, sacrifice and serve the Lord harder. There are so many wonderful people on campus that made it a joy to come to work every day. Thank you to Coach Thomas, Mr. Adams, Mr. Brennan and Coach Spencer for allowing me to do what I love!”
He continued, “The young men of Servite are very special, and I will never forget you guys! The brotherhood was my WHY! The brotherhood is real and strong. At every step in my coaching career I’ve emphasized to my players and coaches that family must come first, family comes before football. Simply put it’s time for me to walk the walk. The Servite Ohana will always have a special place in my heart.”
Head Coach Troy Thomas added, “We are extremely grateful to Coach D for what he’s done for the program and the school in his two years here. His family-first focus and goal of forming the whole young man, not just the football player, was perfectly in line with our mission as a school. He will definitely be missed but we are excited for him to take on this new opportunity and be able to spend more time with his family in Hawaii.”
Servite is thankful to Coach D for sharing his dedication, passion for the game and zest for life with our student-athletes and the entire community. We pray that God will continue to bless him and his family.
Servite will immediately begin a search for a new offensive coordinator. Please direct any inquires to Coach Thomas, tthomas@servitehs.org.
