Servite Scholar-Athlete of the Week (9/3/18)
Aaron Libell
Senior
Cross Country
GPA: 4.4
Favorite School Subject: My favorite subject is math because I love how everything works perfectly like a puzzle. I enjoy figuring out the complex problems all on my own.
How do you balance the academic and athletic rigors here at Servite? I use the time I am given to complete homework during school as much as I can. I complete any athletics training after school to the best of my ability. I use all the time I have to better myself in both academics and athletics.
What is your go-to study tip for an upcoming exam? To study, I review any information that will be on the test. I usually study by talking out loud to help memorize all the information. For math courses, I finish the homework, then I check to see if I answered the questions correctly. For English essays, I have my other people look over what I wrote then I revise it.
What else are you involved in at Servite? I am also involved in Trinity Corp at Servite. I try to work on any free days that I have. I also am heavily involved in the Sanberg International Leadership Program where I have been to China in past two summers learning both the Chinese language and culture.
What’s your biggest motivation that keeps you striving to be the best student-athlete you can be? My biggest motivation for being the best student-athlete is my brothers. In cross country, I run to the best of my ability to help lead the team to victory. I am one of the main leaders of the team where they depend on me. I do all I can to give the cross country team the best shot at succeeding. I strive for greatness in cross country as I know what I do each day affects how good I will get this season. I am motivated to do well in my studies because of my parents’ support. I had to do well in my academics if I wanted to go to China.
