Quarterback Noah Fifita had a standout sophomore campaign leading the Friars to a 7-4 overall record and a CIF-SS Division 1 playoff berth. In 11 games, Fifita threw for 2,892 yards and 37 touchdowns setting a new school record for most passing touchdowns in a season.

The touchdown record was previously held by Servite Hall of Famer Greg Cicero ’97 who threw for 30 touchdowns in 1996.

Fifita tossed a season-high six touchdowns against Villa Park and five versus JW North and Orange Lutheran while his season-long came with an 80 yard strike to Zedakiah Centers against Bishop Gorman.

The Friars’ captain came close to breaking the pass attempts and completions records as well moving into second in the history books after tallying 315 attempts and 193 completions, just shy of Tyler Lytle’s Servite record of 331 attempts and 199 completions set in 2016.

In addition, Fifita tied the pass attempts in a single game record with 43 against Bishop Gorman. Lytle ’17 also attempted 43 passes in 2016 against Mission Viejo as did Rob Walker in 1989 against Los Alamitos.

Fifita concluded the season with just four interceptions while averaging 262.91 yards per game and 9.18 yards per attempt.
