Julius Irvin ’18 Graduates as a 3x Athlete of the Year

Julius Irvin ’18 finished his high school career on a high note earning Servite, Trinity League and Orange County Athletic Director Association Athlete of the Year honors!

A 4-year Varsity letterman in track and a 3-year starter in Football, Irvin has been putting on a show since his freshman year at Servite.

He holds three school records in Track setting a Frosh/Soph record in the 200 (22.41) his sophomore year, breaking the 4×100 relay (41.74) record his junior season running the anchor leg and set a new top mark in the 100 his senior year breaking current New England Patriot Matthew Slater’s record from 2003 with a wind-aided xxx. He helped lead the Friars to a CIF Championship in 2017 and back-to-back Trinity League titles in 2017 and 2018.

In Football, Irvin was a two-time All-Trinity League selection and named 1st Team All-Orange County his senior season in addition to being selected to the Curia and earning Team MVP honors. Defensively, he led the Trinity League in interceptions with five while posting 52 tackles. A two-way athlete for Servite, he also tallied 554 receiving yards off 12 receptions while adding five touchdowns.

A highly-touted recruit ranked among top 100 players in the nation from the Class of 2018, Irvin received 17 full-ride college football scholarships before deciding on the University of Washington where he will join fellow Friars AJ Carty ’15 and Keith Taylor ’17. Irvin also has the opportunity to run track with the Huskies and the potential to be a rare 2-sport collegiate athlete.
