Jon Spencer has resigned his position as head soccer coach after eight seasons with the Friars. During that time, he led the team to seven Trinity League championships and two CIF-SS Division 1 titles while being named Coach of the Year twice.
Athletic Director Alan Clinton shared, “Servite would like to thank Coach Spencer for his dedication to our young men, helping to form them into true Faith-Filled Leaders both on and off the field. He has strengthened the tradition of excellence within the program and laid the foundation for success for many years to come. Coach Spencer has been a staple in the athletic department and community at large. His passion and enthusiasm will be missed.”
While at Servite, Coach Spencer went 138-29-39 overall and 57-7-16 in Trinity League play, advancing to the playoffs every year while earning three regional bids. He also sent over 40 players to compete collegiately.
Coach Spencer said, “Servite High School has been a home to me over the past eight years. My time here has been amazing and together we created special memories. The players have met the challenges we have faced head-on. These young men continue to amaze me how they have been able to learn, adapt, and develop. From day one we focused on excellence both on and off the field and I am proud of what the program has accomplished. Although my time here has come to an end, I am excited to see these young men continue to become Faith-Filled Leaders.”
Principal Michael Brennan added, “Coach Spencer has had a tremendous impact on the Servite community during his tenure. We are sincerely grateful for his years of service and wish the best for him and his family.”
