Jared Steins ’22 set a new course record at Santa Margarita Saturday morning posting a time of 15:24 on their cross country course! The new mark shatters the existing record of 15:31 that was originally set in October of 2000.
After running 15:42.8 in his first race at Santa Margarita to open the season, Steins knew the record was in reach and set his sights on the prize during his second attempt.
The meet victory was his fourth of the season with one race left on the Trinity League schedule. Other top finishers for the Friars included Andrew Calle ’21 (16:45.9) and Michael Guerra ’23 (17:19.9).
