Senior Jack Terrones recently announced his college commitment saying, “I am very excited to announce that I have committed to Southern New Hampshire University to continue my academic and athletic career playing lacrosse. I want to thank my family, friends and coaches who have helped me tremendously throughout this process. Go Penmen!”
The Friars attackman shared, “I picked SNHU because I felt that it was the right place for me. When I walked on campus I instantly loved it.” He continued, “I was attracted to the lacrosse program specifically because they were very welcoming and have a great program overall.”
A four-year varsity letterman and starter for the Friars, Terrones is a 3x 1st Team All-Trinity League selection and All-County nominee. He has led the Friars in scoring and/or points since his freshman year and finished his junior campaign as the league’s leading scorer. Through three seasons with the Friars, he has tallied 125 goals, 49 assists and 106 ground balls for a total of 174 points with his senior season yet to be played.
Servite Coach Tom O’Leary shared, “It is beyond challenging to express my sense of pride in our senior captain, Jack Terrones. Since Jack was in middle school, I have witnessed his ascend into the Orange County lacrosse spotlight. He made an immediate impact on the program his freshman year, as one of the only four year varsity starters in program history.” Coach O’Leary went on to say, “I have no doubt Jack will be able to help Coach Calkins do the same in his first year at Southern New Hampshire University. To have the opportunity to coach a player like Jack, is a blessing to begin with but to see that young man go on to play for your Alma Mater truly augments the bond between player and coach. I am grateful to Matt and Sherri Terrones for choosing Servite for their sons.”
Terrones, who plans to study business at SNHU, joined the lacrosse team in serving the community during his time at Servite participating in events such as Field of Valor and Bikes for Kids.
In closing Terrones shared, “Thank you to my family for going back east with me, sticking by my side and helping me through this process. Also, thank you to my coaches for always being willing to help me in a heartbeat, you’ve always been there whenever I needed help.
Servite would like to congratulate Jack on this commitment and wish him the best of luck as he finishes his high school career and moves on to compete at the collegiate ranks.
