Senior Jack Kane has committed to play football at Oregon State. The Friars safety shared, “I chose OSU because of the amazing education that comes with it. I’m also excited about getting the opportunity to play PAC-12 football.
A two-year varsity letterman for Servite, Kane earned 2nd Team All-Trinity League Defense following his junior season after tallying 52 tackles and one interception in six games.
Coach Troy Thomas shared, “Jack Kane is one of the most instinctual players I have ever had the pleasure of coaching. Along with great instincts, he is one of our leaders on the defense. Jack will definitely make his mark at Oregon State.”
Kane, who plans to study business at OSU, also plays rugby and runs track for the Friars and is involved with the Priory program serving as the Hugh Prior.
Kane will join fellow Friar Jake Overman ’20 in Corvallis this fall and will play for former Servite assistant coach and current OSU coach Mike Pitre.
In closing Kane shared, “I want to thank God for blessing me with such an incredible opportunity! Thank you to anyone and everyone who has believed in me. Thank you to my coaches who pushed me on the field and my teachers who helped me excel in the classroom. Thank you to my family for having faith in me and giving me every opportunity to be successful. It has been a dream of mine to play Division 1 college football since I can remember!”
