Exactly one year to the day after winning back-to-back CIF titles, Servite Golf did it again today claiming their 3rd consecutive CIF Championship and fourth in the last five years!
After going undefeated in regular season competition and earning their sixth consecutive Trinity League title, the Friars kept the momentum going today posting a team score of 358 (+3) at Santa Anita Golf Course edging out Mater Dei (359) and West Ranch (362) to take home the top spot. The victory also advanced Servite to Thursday’s SCGA Qualifying Tournament at Goose Creek.
Individually, junior Alex Hanz led the Friars shooting 70 (-1) while senior Brendan Gonzalez and sophomore Benjamin Hong both shot par (71). Other scores counted for the team total came from junior Nicolas Harrison and sophomore William Sung who each posted 73 (+2).
In addition to contributing to the team score during Thursday’s SCGA Qualifier, Sung will also compete in the CIF-SS Individual Tournament after advancing out of the Trinity League Tournament then the Individual Regional.
