On Friday, February 9th, the Red Cross Club hosted the annual blood drive at Servite High School. The American Red Cross, a humanitarian volunteer-led organization, provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Red Cross Club members solicited sign-ups in the weeks leading up to the blood drive, and also helped everything run smoothly on the actual day of the blood drive.
There was a good community response. Many people were grateful for the opportunity to help those in need. Garret Nelson, a Servite Junior, said, “Donating blood has made me appreciative of my health, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give back.”
We are grateful to the students, faculty, staff, parents, and members of the Servite community who stepped up to the plate and helped those in need. If you didn’t have the opportunity, we encourage you to sign up next year or contact your local Red Cross.
