Senior Christian Hodson has committed to play soccer at Point Loma University. The Friars midfielder said, “I chose Point Loma because of the similar beliefs of Servite, and to further my walk with Christ at a school that values it greatly.” He continued, “The main thing that attracted me to the soccer program was the head coach, Coach Wolf. His coaching style and compassion really stuck out to me and I realized this was the place I belong.”
A three-year varsity letterman for the Friars, Hodson contributed to Servite’s CIF-SS Division 1 Championship and their 7th consecutive Trinity League title in 2020. In addition to soccer, Hodson is involved in the Auto Club at Servite and volunteers with RAD Camp.
Coach Eddie Soto shared, “I’m excited that we were able to help Christian land an opportunity where he wanted to go. Point Loma was his #1 both for academics and soccer. His work ethic and commitment to the sport will help him transition nicely. We wish him well and look forward to following his continued success in college.”
Hodson is the first Friar soccer player from a talented senior class to announce his college decision.
In closing Hodson shared, “Thank you so much to my mom, dad, and brother for always showing up to my games and supporting me through everything. Also, a big thanks to my coaches for always believing in me and helping me grow as not only a player, but a man.”
The 2021 soccer season is currently scheduled to begin in March.
