Brian Rusnak has committed to play lacrosse at Arcadia University. The Friars’ senior told MAX LAX OC, “I chose Arcadia because of the location and Coach Purpura’s vision for the program in the future.”
A three-year varsity letterman for the Friars, Rusnak earned 1st Team All-Trinity League honors following his junior campaign after tallying 37 goals and 20 assists, leading the team in assists and tying for most points. He was also recognized with All-County Honorable Mention accolades.
Coach Tom O’Leary shared, “Throughout his time here at Servite, Brian has worked and competed tirelessly to become one of our top players and a serious threat to all Orange County defenses. His passion and drive to enhance his talents goes beyond the lacrosse field.” He continued, “A quiet, reserved young man trying to find his role here at Servite and in the program when he joined us his sophomore year, has matured to a gritty, hard nosed young man with a fire in his eyes heading into the 2020 season.”
Rusnak, who plans to study accounting in college, is also involved on campus volunteering with Servite’s Kairos retreats serving as a small group leader then Prior.
Rusnak is the second Friar lacrosse player from the Class of 2020 to announce his college decision joining Jack Terrones who is headed to Southern New Hampshire University.
In closing, Rusnak shared, “I would like to thank my parents for spending a lot of time and money so that I could travel for lacrosse and have the opportunities that I have had. I would also like to thank Coach O’Leary for immediately accepting me as part of his team when I transferred sophomore year.”
Servite would like to congratulate Brian on this exciting achievement and wish him the best of luck as he finishes his high school career and continues on to compete for the Knights.
