Senior Andrew Cook has committed to play basketball at Carroll College. The Friars’ captain shared, “I chose Carroll because of the family atmosphere I felt there. Everybody was reaching out and showing their interest in me not only as a basketball player but as a person.” The continued, “The basketball program has a winning culture and I can tell Coach Paulson and Coach See are going to push me everyday. I’ve already talked with some of the players as well and we all have the same goal of winning a national championship next year.”

A three-year varsity letterman for Servite Basketball, Cook earned 2nd Team All-Trinity League recognition as a junior with his senior season currently being played. To date, Cook leads the team with 348 points scored in 16 games played with 91 rebounds and 35 steals. He is also shooting 83% from the free throw line. Earlier this season, Cook posted a career-high 47 points against La Habra, just two points shy of the school record, and is on pace to finish in the top 10 all-time in points scored.

Servite Basketball Coach John Morris ’01 shared, “We are very excited for Andrew to have the opportunity to continue his education and compete at Carroll College next year.  Carroll College is the perfect school for Andrew to continue his holistic development as a young man.  It is a strong Catholic university that mirrors the same teachings as Servite High School and is an environment where Andrew will thrive both on and off the court.  Go Saints!”

Cook, who plans to study education at Carroll, has also been involved with Kairos, Bible study, Upper Room and Freshman Formation Weekend at Servite.

In closing he shared, “I would like to thank my family, coaches, and friends that have supported me and pushed me to be in the position I am in. Nobody let me stay in my comfort zone and I was constantly challenged and pushed to new heights. I love each and every one of you and couldn’t have done it without you guys!”
