Aaron Simpson ’16 Signs to Play Baseball at Ball State

Aaron Simpson ’16 has signed to play baseball at Ball State! Simpson attended the University of San Diego his Freshman year before transferring to Cypress College for his sophomore campaign where he earned 1st Team All-OEC honors hitting .297 with 24 RBIs and a team-high 10 stolen bases.

Simpson announced his commitment on Twitter sharing, “Words can not describe how excited I am for another opportunity to play and compete. It was truly a grind but happy to announce I’ll be playing baseball at Ball State University for the next two years.”

A three-year varsity letterman in baseball for the Friars and a two-sport athlete playing football as well, Simpson led the Friars in RBIs, hits and runs his senior season. In 30 games he tallied 33 hits with 11 for extra bases including a lead off home run against Orange Lutheran April 21st. He also led the team in multi-hit games with 11, recording three hits against both Mountain Ridge and St. John Bosco. Simpson helped the Friars on the mound as well, finishing the season with a .000 ERA tossing 10.1 innings over five games and giving up seven hits while striking out 11.

Simpson was named 1st team All-League following the 2016 season and was selected to participate in the Trinity League All-Star Baseball game and the OC All-Star Football Game.
