Servite Athletics recognized seven student-athletes representing three sports on National Signing Day as they made commitments to continue their athletic and academic careers at the next level.

Baseball

Christian Ciuffetelli (Oregon), Grant Newton (UCSB) and Tanner Smith (Oregon) helped lead Servite Baseball back to the playoffs last season for the first time since 2013 while also earning Trinity League series wins over JSerra, Orange Lutheran and Santa Margarita.

Christian is a 3-year Varsity letterman for the Friars and a 2nd Team All-Trinity League selection. He finished his junior season with a team-low 1.39 ERA while recording 31 strikeouts. He also earned the win in the Friars playoff victory over Cypress.

Grant is also 3-year Varsity letterman for the Friars and a Trinity League Honorable Mention selection last season. He finished the year with a 3.4 ERA and 27 strikeouts.

Tanner is a four-year Varsity starter for the Friars. Last season, he earned 1st Team All-Trinity League recognition while being named team MVP after posting a .372 batting average during league play and leading the team in hits with 32 and runs with 21 on the season.

Golf

Both 4-year Varsity letterman, Kyle Kinnane (LMU) and Jack Rahon (Seattle University) have helped lead the Servite Golf program to three Trinity League titles and two CIF Championships as well as countless tournament victories during their time as Friars.

Kyle was the OC Register Golfer of the Year last season, a 1st Team All-Trinity League selection and the CIF Individual Runner-Up. Kyle averaged a 36.2 for nine holes last season and was a match medalist seven times. He also finished in the top 10 at the prestigious Champions Invitational.

Jack qualified for last year’s CIF State Tournament and was a 1st Team All-Orange County and All-Trinity League selection. He averaged a 37.3 on the season and was a match medalist six times. He finished 2nd in the Trinity League tournament for the second year in a row, tying with Kyle in 2017.

Lacrosse

Servite Lacrosse is coming off their best season in school history thanks in large part to the play of Hayden Rodenbeck (Utah) and Jack Seals (Stevenson). The defensive duo helped lead the Friars to the second round of playoffs and a record 13 wins.

Hayden is a 4-year Varsity letterman for the Friars and was named Trinity League Defensive Player of the Year last season becoming the first Servite Lacrosse player to earn the award. He was also selected 1st Team All-Orange County and 1st Team All-Chapter by US Lacrosse. In addition, he was invited to participate in the Under Armour All-American Game.

Jack is a 3-year Varsity letterman for the Friars who broke onto the recruiting scene over the summer after making a big impact at multiple tournaments on the East Coast where he was named a tournament all-star and represented Team California.
