Servite Scholar-Athlete of the Week (10/22/18)
Jaron Botiz
Senior
Football
GPA: 3.8

Favorite School Subject: My favorite subject is science because I love learning about the different facets that make up our lives and questions like “How did life start” always interest me.

How do you balance the academic and athletic rigors here at Servite? To balance my academic and athletic life at Servite, I study and do homework at any chance I get because I don’t know the next time that I will have free time, but when it’s time for football, then I’m all in and committed.

What is your go-to study tip for an upcoming exam? My go-to study tip is rewriting my notes because the first time you write your notes you are really not focused on what the teacher is saying, but if you read and rewrite what you already wrote, then I feel like it gets engraved in your mind.

What else are you involved in at Servite? At Servite, I am involved in the SIGN Club, Red Cross Club, Select Choir, football, and track.

What’s your biggest motivation that keeps you striving to be the best student-athlete you can be? My motivation to be the best student-athlete I can be is because I want to be successful later in life and I know that if I succeed with multitasking sports and academics every day then life will be a breeze.

Current Courses: CP Calculus, AP Literature, AP Environmental Science, Critical Reflections, CP Economics, Select Choir.
